Goodwill Internship: Performance Excellence
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Intern will be assigned to one of several functional areas within the Goodwill system. Some of these functional areas include Human Resources, Performance Excellence, Data Analyst, Information Technology, Logistics, and Training. The incumbent will assist in organizational shadowing & learning and serving as an asset for any internal programs Goodwill may have involving adult education and/or job skill training. The integration of this internship ensures that the individual is involved in day-to-day business and projects right from the start and has the opportunity to assume some responsibility as quickly as possible. Specific training and support from a designated team leader will help to build on the Intern's professional and personal skills and prepare them for their subsequent career.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure proper execution of functional and administrative tasks as assigned.
2. Support the designated manager and the team in management tasks.
3. Will interact fluently and with customers and coworkers handling an array of activities including but not limited to: analyze programs, generate reports, answer phones, scheduling, filing, scanning, mailing, and much more.
4. May assist marketing and business development staff with managing donor relationships, tracking and monitoring project progress, developing project work plans, and coordinating the design, production, and writing of marketing materials. This position also requires the ability to complete substantial amounts of research.
5. Assist in the production and preparation of press releases, newsletter, marketing brochures, direct mail, email and social media.
6. Respond to and serve Goodwill staff and customers in a positive and energetic manner.
7. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
Advanced: Presentation/PowerPoint, Word Processing/Typing
Intermediate: Accounting, Spreadsheet
Basic: Contact Management, Database
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Excellent communications, customer service and interpersonal skills.
A passion for writing and discipline to edit.
Strong time-management and organizational skill.
Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point. Graphic design experience preferred.
Quick learner with the ability to self-motivate and work in a team environment.
