PROJECT TITLE: Geotech/Junior Geologist
LOCATION: North Idaho, Silver Valley
START DATE: April-May 2026 (Flexible)
END DATE: December 2026 (with potential extension)

1.0 INTRODUCTION
Background: Active mine drill programs can be carried out year-round and require a team of geologists to ensure deadlines are met and data is accurately captured. Tamarack Geological Services will provide a contract geologist to assist a mine in NorthIdaho with core logging, working alongside other mine personnel.
 

Objectives: The Geologist will be working alongside core logging and mine Geologists and assist in all functions related to the contract objectives.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
Key Tasks:
1. Core Logging: Clean, reassemble, and measure core. Log data using database
software, with attention to mineralization, structure, alteration, and Lithology.
2. Sample Management: Lay out, cut, and package samples, ensuring proper
QA/QC protocols are followed.
3. Data Entry: Collect, Upload, and organize data. Assist with office tasks like
scanning and digitization.
4. Transport & Organization: Properly label, store, and transport core and core
samples, maintaining accurate inventory.
5. Communication: Report to Exploration manager, regular check-ins with
exploration team. Report any issues promptly.
6. Quarterly Pulps: Organize, sort, and properly label returned pulps from the
assay lab to be resubmitted for quarterly QA/QC checks

3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

 Contractor Responsibilities: Provide a qualified geologist who adheres to
Tamarack's standards and safety protocols.
 Project Owner Responsibilities: Ensure the project stays on track in terms of
scope, quality, schedule, and cost.

4.0 QUALIFICATIONS
 Bachelor’s Degree in Geology
 1-5 years experience (preferred, not required) with a focus on core logging and sampling.
 Ability to learn local geology of an active mine site, perform daily coreshed tasks such as; geologic logging, Geotech (RMR and Q), sampling, cutting core.
 Completion of MSHA 24hr Certification (Reimbursed)
