Intern Hardware Engineer

Intern - Hardware Engineer, Princeton, NJ (onsite)

RICOVR Healthcare’s platform technology utilizes a novel optic biosensor combined with functionalized plasmonic nanoparticles to enable quantitative immunoassays at the point-of-care. We are at an inflection point in bringing this technology to market and are seeking to expand our engineering team with an Intern in our Engineering group. 

As an Intern Engineer at RICOVR Healthcare, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the schematic and library (Altium), in addition to hands on circuit and product assembly to include schematics, assembly instructions, and parts drawings.

Responsible for schematic and library maintenance using Altium, as well as hands-on circuit and product assembly. This includes creating schematics, assembly instructions, and parts drawings. You will work collaboratively with a diverse team across scientific and engineering disciplines towards launching our first commercial product and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as an integral part of the team for up to 20 hours a week (unpaid).
  • Maintenance of the engineering library to include schematics, parts & assembly instructions.
  • Documentation with final QA testing and feedback from devices in field
  • Support the build and documentation of existing assemblies and custom fixtures.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in embedded systems and microcontroller development.

Required Qualifications

  • In-Progress Bachelor's degree/ MS degree Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Good knowledge of electrical circuits, boards.
  • Ability to design and run an experiment.
  • Experience with 3D printing and 3D CAD.
     

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communicator with non-technical team members
  • Working knowledge of electronic circuits and components like LEDs, photodiodes, current sources, stepper motors, etc.
