Outdoor Recreation School Intern - Cleary Lake Regional Park
The Outdoor Recreation School (ORS) at Cleary Lake Regional Park offers hands-on outdoor recreation programs for visitors of all ages across Three Rivers Park District. From paddling and archery to fishing, youth camps, and adapted recreation, ORS helps people connect with nature through active experiences. As an ORS Intern, you’ll gain real-world experience supporting and leading outdoor programs while working alongside experienced staff.
This role is part of the Pathways Internship Program, a paid opportunity to explore careers in parks and recreation. Interns also attend Development Days to build career skills and connect with peers.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and help lead outdoor recreation programs (paddling, archery, fishing, camps, etc.)
- Create welcoming, inclusive experiences for park visitors
- Set up, maintain, and clean program equipment and spaces
- Follow safety guidelines to ensure a positive experience for all participants
- Collaborate with staff and fellow interns as part of a team
- Participate in trainings and Pathways Development Days
Qualifications
- Interest in the outdoors, recreation, or working with people
- Willingness to learn and try new activities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (including evenings/weekends)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
