HR Intern

Department: Human Resources 

Reports to: CPO 

Pay Group: Non-Exempt

Hours: Part-time 20+ hours a week flexible

Join our team as an HR Intern, where you'll get your hands on the full spectrum of HR — from recruiting and benefits to employee engagement and compliance. This isn't a sideline role. You'll own real work, support real people, and gain real experience!

Your curiosity, attention to detail, and ability to juggle priorities will help keep our HR operations running smoothly — and your contributions will be felt across the entire organization.

What You'll Do

  • Support full-cycle recruiting: posting open roles, scheduling interviews, following up with candidates
  • Assist with benefits administration, including employee inquiries, and documentation tracking.
  • Enter, update, and audit employee records in our HRIS system to keep data accurate and compliant.
  • Process HR paperwork — onboarding documents, offer letters, I-9s, and more — with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Help plan and execute employee engagement initiatives and team events.
  • Maintain organized employee files and training documentation in accordance with company policy.
  • Run basic reports 
  • Support policy and procedure updates and other HR projects as they come up.
  • Handle sensitive employee information with the highest level of discretion.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field — junior or senior standing preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule and shift priorities when needed
  • Comfortable handling confidential information responsibly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 
  • A self-starter mindset 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior coursework or experience in HR, recruiting, or business operations
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms or applicant tracking systems
  • Experience in a professional office environment

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods of sitting and computer use
  • Regular communication via phone, email, and video conferencing
