Salary Range: $16.92 to $18.61 per hour (commensurate with experience)
The County is accepting applications for the position of PT Service Associate I at Rowan County Library, which has branches in Salisbury, Rockwell, China Grove, and Cleveland. This position provides assistance to library users in pursuit of information both in person and by telephone; assists users with computer software and the internet; circulates library materials; handles overdue materials and fines; and resolves problems; up to 16 hours per week; includes evening and weekend work; work hours will not exceed 999 hours in the calendar year. Minimum Qualifications
Requires general knowledge of library practices and procedures and of reference tools to assist users in pursuit of information; knowledge of arithmetic and its uses in general office work; the ability to alphabetize, type with accuracy, and operate a computer and other office equipment.
Minimum requirements include an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration, or related field and one year of experience working in a library or public service setting, or highly responsible administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
