BIM/VDC intern
Hunter Roberts Construction Group is a seeking the right candidate to participate in our internship opportunities with the VDC department. Our goal is to ensure our intern are engaged on the day-to-day activities associated VDC/BIM technology supporting preconstruction and construction stage of a project. This experience will provide our intern with a special set of skills to help them tackle challenging construction problem with innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a degree in civil engineering (or similar) or Architecture with an eagerness to work on the technology planning and implementation side of project delivery.
- Experience with 2D and 3D modeling, based knowledge in Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Rhino or SketchUp
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to develop efficient workflows that improve analog methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, in an organized manner, self-prioritizing workload accordingly.
Responsibilities
This person will support projects while learning about engineering delivery and fostering skills in 3D modeling, information management, and data science workflows.
- Work with BIM software to employ related protocols and standards.
- Assist with project management, information management, coordination, and modeling efforts for logistic.
- Run QA/QC on coordination model to support current project delivery workflows.
- Assist with developing project documents and deliverables such as:
- Setup, management, and maintenance of digital delivery platforms, project models, and associated documentation
- Assist with training, implementation, and support of VDC tools and processes for the project team.
- Work with the project teams on coordination deliverable.
- Monitor and audit projects VDC standard compliance.
- Assist project team with identifying conflicts, incomplete or ambiguous design deliverables during preconstruction stage of a project.
- Assisting with the development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under the direction of the project manager
- Coordinating with other disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).
