How you will make an impact:
- Work within an analytical chemical characterization laboratory under the guidance of experienced scientists.
- Support projects utilizing Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC‑MS) and Liquid Chromatography Quadrupole Time‑of‑Flight Mass Spectrometry (LC‑QTOF‑MS) to analyze reference standards and evaluate response factors.
- Gain hands‑on experience through sample and standard preparation, instrument operation, and basic instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Contribute to additional laboratory activities, including exposure to Lean Six Sigma principles, chemical inventory management, standards logging, and chemical waste handling and disposal in compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines, as well as other laboratory duties as assigned.
- Follow established laboratory policies, SOPs, and safety procedures to maintain a compliant and well-organized environment.
What you'll need (Required):
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, or a related science field.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Graduation date of December 2026 or later.
- Availability for an assignment for a minimum of 10 weeks over the course of the summer.
- Must be in good scholastic standing (3.0+ GPA or equivalent).
- Must not require company sponsorship for an employment-based visa now or in the future.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
What else we look for (Preferred):
- Experience using analytical equipment, such GCMS and LCQTOF.
- Candidates who are local to the Draper, UT area
