Mission & Local Outreach Associate
Summary:
The Mission and Local Outreach Associate leads in the operations and volunteer engagement of BCC’s Mission & Outreach ministries.

Non-exempt, part-time (21 hrs/week)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Mission Department to guide and oversee specific local outreach ministries, volunteer onboarding & coordination, and operational aspects of Mission and Local Outreach.
- Serve as the Primary staff lead for the Community Meal and Food Bank, while continuing to lead through volunteers. Provide care, feedback, and support for volunteers and lay leaders. Recruit new volunteers and develop the ministries in alignment with the vision and values for mission at Bethany.
- Support the operational needs of the Mission and Local Outreach Department including following up on inquiries, calendars, project requests, event registrations, and room reservations.
- Support the Pastor of Mission & Outreach in developing local outreach ministries across Bethany’s six locations. This includes project management and coordination of collaborative work with Mission Conduit Leaders from each location.
- Perform general duties, participate as a member of the Bethany Green Lake and Bethany Community Church staff, and perform other duties as situation requires or as assigned by supervisor.

- Understanding and adherence to Bethany’s foundational beliefs in our outward-facing messaging.
- A loyal team player who is committed to the religious mission, values, and vision of Bethany Community Church.
- Training in holistic Christian missional practices; 1-2 years of experience in Christian community development preferred.
- 3+ years of experience leading volunteers preferred.
- Strong administrative, project management, and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate both people and financial resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Applications, and other web-based technology for information sharing.
- Ability to collaborate well with others inter-departmentally, across locations, and with organizations beyond BCC.
OTHER SPECIFICATIONS
Work Schedule:
Typical work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 21 hours/week.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to work in an office environment, often at a computer workstation. Must be able to move between buildings on campus. Must be able to lift small boxes and/or equipment up to 25lbs.
Working Conditions:
Due to seasonal activity, job duties may often require additional hours and availability outside normal working hours. This position may require the flexibility to adjust the work schedule from time to time to work earlier or later than the typical schedule. You must be able to adapt your approach and priorities in real time based on shifting demands. We have non-smoking buildings and environments.
Compensation:
$27,000-$30,000 dependent on experience.
