Position Summary:
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Marketing and Graphic Design Intern position for Oregon State University (OSU).
The OSU Sustainability Office seeks an enthusiastic student to coordinate events, design and deliver marketing and outreach materials, and manage outreach via the web, social media, and in person. The Sustainability Office is the central support organization for sustainability efforts at OSU and serves the broader university through a wide variety of services and programs. This position supports the Sustainability Office team in delivering various programs that engage students, faculty and staff. Position Duties:
This position involves communications design and storytelling via multiple channels in a diverse media landscape that includes social media, print media, and video.
Work schedule can be flexible but must remain responsive to workload. The successful candidate will work 10-12 hours per week during the academic year and up to 20 hours per week during summer on the following:
• Social media and web content managemento Update and expand the http://fa.oregonstate.edu/sustainability/ using Drupalo Design digital media including social media graphics, informational slides and other visual elements to support various projects and programso Adhere to OSU brand guidelines and requirementso Manage a robust social media presence on the OSU Ecologue blog, Facebook, Instagram, and TikToko Be proactive in creating content and setting outreach goalso Analyze successes and opportunities via detailed analytics
• Assist with events and coordinate event planningo Coordinate and plan campaigns and events that showcase sustainability programs and projects to diverse audienceso Staff display tables and coordinate tabling schedules for other staff
• Design print media such as posters, brochures, quarter-sheets and various creative marketing materials (ex. stickers) and manage production of materials
• Create the bi-weekly Sustainability at OSU newsletter using MailChimp
• Maintain consistent communication within the office and with other university and community entities
• Provide support with other projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
• High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
• Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
• Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
• Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
• Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the https://internationalservices.oregonstate.edu/ (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications:
• Clear and consistent written communication and excellent interpersonal skills
• Intermediate graphic design skills and experience with both Adobe design software (InDesign and Illustrator) as well as basic Canva skills (for social media)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Social media and marketing experience
• Experience planning events (specific to OSU preferred)
Preferred (Special) Qualifications:
• Personal commitment to and general knowledge of basic sustainability and environmental justice
• Experience using any of the following: Drupal, WordPress, MailChimp, analytics software
• Experience with video production, capturing field audio, and related software (Adobe AfterEffects, Adobe Premiere)
• Experience with Metareal or equivalent virtual tour editing and production software
