Barry Isett & Associates’ Environmental Consulting team is made up of professional geologists, environmental scientists, and engineers who collaborate to deliver innovative and integrated environmental solutions. Our services support clients through environmental consulting, assessments, remediation, restoration, and preservation while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental requirements.
Internship Overview
The Environmental Summer Intern will support ongoing environmental consulting projects and gain hands-on exposure to real-world environmental assessments, field investigations, and technical reporting. This internship offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced environmental professionals on a wide variety of projects that contribute to responsible land development and environmental protection.
What You’ll Do
Under the guidance of environmental scientists, geologists, and engineers, the intern may assist with:
- Field support for Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
- Assisting with wetland delineation, permitting, mitigation, and monitoring
- Supporting groundwater investigations, hydrogeologic studies, and stormwater infiltration investigations
- Assisting with soil evaluations, sinkhole investigations, and carbonate geology studies
- Supporting stream and floodplain restoration activities
- Assisting with storage tank removal, closure, and permitting documentation
- Conducting research and data collection for due diligence and Brownfields services
- Assisting with environmental compliance services such as PA Act 2 site characterizations and PA Act 537 sewage facilities planning modules
- Helping prepare technical documentation, maps, and reports
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Interest in environmental consulting, assessments, and remediation
- Willingness to participate in both field and office-based work
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn from a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to follow safety procedures and professional standards in the field
