PSEO Office Program Coordinator - PSEO

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The PSEO Office Program Coordinator will collaborate with the Director, Assistant Director, and Office Assistant to ensure students enrolling in the PSEO, sometimes referred to as dual enrollment, program feel part of the Minnesota State Mankato community. The position will be responsible for:

  • Helping with event coordination including, but not limited to, communication, scheduling spaces, and presenting to large and small groups.
  • Regular communication to students
  • Advising students (following up on notes from faculty, tracking academic progress, understanding university general education requirements)
  • Answering general emails submitted to the PSEO inbox
  • Some travel to high schools may be requested depending on full-time staff availability, and 
  • Helping to create an inclusive environment where all students feel that they can be successful and take advantage of the PSEO program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with various on-campus and off-campus offices
  • Ability to work on-site at the PSEO office for 20 hours per week
  • A bachelor's degree
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date. 
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High interested in access to higher education and recognizing the opportunities that a higher education can have on a person's academic pursuits.
  • Understanding of the PSEO program (sometimes call dual enrollment), either in Minnesota or another state
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment. 

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
