This role is based on site in our Solana Beach office Monday–Thursday, with remote work on Fridays. Overall Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated Marketing Intern to support the launch of VIZZ®, a first-in-class ophthalmic therapy for presbyopia. This role will contribute to the execution of digital marketing initiatives across both consumer and eye care professional (ECP) audiences, helping to bring a new brand to market with impact and precision.
The intern will work cross-functionally with the marketing team to support key digital touchpoints—including social media, CRM/email, website performance, and online patient and in-person (conventions) provider engagement—ensuring a seamless and high-quality brand experience. This role will play a critical part in supporting awareness, engagement, and conversion efforts during a pivotal commercial launch phase, while gaining hands-on experience in pharmaceutical brand building and omnichannel marketing execution.
The position will report to the VP of Marketing, and offer exposure to both strategic planning and day-to-day execution in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Monitor and track social media and online conversations related to VIZZ and key competitors, identifying trends and insights
- Assist in the end-to-end coordination of regional and national eye care conferences, ensuring seamless logistics, timely material fulfillment, and strong brand representation
- Conduct daily quality checks across digital touchpoints, including the brand website, HubSpot email workflows, social media channels (including comments), corporate website, and investor relations (IR) site
- Develop an initiative and new marketing piece to support the sales team, from ideation through approval and production.
Required Skills:
- Strong interest in marketing, digital strategy, and brand building, preferably within eye/healthcare, life sciences, or consumer brand products
- Foundational understanding of digital marketing channels, including social media, email/CRM (e.g., HubSpot), and website management
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to monitor and quality-check multiple digital touchpoints simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for both consumer and healthcare professional audiences
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and surface actionable insights
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proactive, self-starter attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with marketing tools or analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, social listening tools) is a plus
Program Requirements:
- Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; college transcript required.
- Currently enrolled in or newly graduated from an accredited college/university.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
- Must complete an application and provide a cover letter expressing interest and indicating best department to further learning goals.
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to the program start date. Onboarding will be provided.
- Successfully pass all compliance modules.
- Final presentation on learning during last week of the program.
Academic Credit:
If an internship is associated with academic credit:
- The intern is responsible for coordinating credit requirements with their institution.
- LENZ may complete required evaluations or documentation, as appropriate.
- Academic credit does not replace compensation unless the internship qualifies as unpaid under California law.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Onsite in Solana Beach, CA Monday to Thursday (remote Fridays). Typically works in an office environment. May, on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time, intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Frequent out-of-town travel may be required. Hourly Rate
- Pay is $20/hr. Schedule can be up to 40 hours per week.
Additional Details:
- Internships are temporary and typically last 8–12 weeks (start and end dates will be clearly defined in writing in the offer letter).
