Childcare Teacher

North Broadway Children's Center is looking for experienced and qualified teachers to join our center! NBCC is a Gold Rated, Step Up To Quality center. Applicants must have a minimum of one year of experience working in a child care setting.
Toddler Teacher - Must have experience caring for children 18 months to 3 years.
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Toddler Teacher to join our team. This role is full-time, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This role is essential in creating a safe, engaging, and play-based learning environment where toddlers are encouraged to explore, discover, and build foundational skills through meaningful experiences. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of early childhood development and values learning through play, following children’s interests, and supporting social-emotional growth. We are looking for someone who is patient, responsive, and intentional in their interactions, collaborates well with colleagues, communicates effectively with families, and is committed to fostering a joyful and inclusive classroom community.
Preschool Teacher - Must have experience caring for children 3-5 years old.
This position supports our preschool classrooms during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Teachers in this role are expected to be active, engaged members of the classroom team and contribute to a consistent, high-quality experience for children.
We are looking for someone who is able to work collaboratively within a co-teaching model. This includes clear communication, shared responsibility, and a willingness to support classroom needs as they arise. Flexibility and the ability to step into different roles throughout the day are essential.
Responsibilities include supporting daily routines, engaging with children in meaningful ways, maintaining a safe and organized environment, and working alongside colleagues to implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences.
Candidates should be dependable, responsive, and able to take initiative while also being open to feedback. A strong team mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with both staff and families are key expectations for this role.
School-Age Teacher - Must have experience caring for children for school-age children.
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School-Age Teacher to join our team for our afternoon program. This position is part time, Monday through Friday from 2:00 .pm. -to 6:00p.m. It does have the potential for full-time hours. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and is passionate about creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment after the school day ends.
Our afternoon program focuses on a balance of structured activities and child-led play, giving children the opportunity to unwind, explore their interests, and build positive relationships with peers. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, a team player, and someone who can provide consistent supervision while fostering a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Qualifications :

- Direct Teaching Experience
- Understands and Follows DCY Child Care Licensing Rules
Required Job Skills:
- Use positive guidance strategies to support children
- Develop weekly lesson plans based on interests and needs of the children
- Complete quarterly child assessments using Teaching Strategies Gold
- Conduct daily observations
- Provide a play based learning environment
- Ensure a safe and organized classroom space
- Promote student engagement and independent learning
- Maintain state licensing rules and Step Up to Quality guidelines
- Ensure all child paperwork is up to date and complete
- Work cooperatively with teaching team to maintain NBCC standards
- Communicates clearly and respectfully with colleagues, families, and administration
- Demonstrates openness to feedback and a commitment to ongoing development in teaching practices
- Build positive relationships with families, maintaining open communications regarding child progress, behavior, and any concerns or updates
- Prepares and serves snacks, following CACFP guidelines
- Participates in NBCC events
- Complete at least 10 hours of professional development yearly
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience:
- CDA, AA or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum & Teaching Strategies Gold
