R2026103663 Fisheries Intern

Position Summary

The Kanno Lab is seeking an hourly undergradaute student employee who will assist with laboratory and field fisheries work in spring through summer. The position is based in Fort Collins with a focus on processing aquatic insect and algae samples in the laboratory. Fieldwork will occur occasionally in Colorado.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Interest in fisheries and stream ecology
  • Abilities to work independently and as a team in the laboratory
  • Organizational skills including data recording
  • Valid Drivers License

 

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge on taxonomy and identification of aquatic insects in Colorado
  • Fisheries sampling

 

Essential Duties

  • Sort aquatic insect samples for taxonomic identification
  • Process aquatic algae for ash free dry mass measurements
  • Assist graduate students with fisheries fieldwork, as needed.
