Logistics Coordinator Job Description
All positions within Indigo Energy require a certain amount of technical/computer skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking abilities and a self-starter personality in order to be successful. This position will be responsible for reliable and effective delivery of transport loads of petroleum products to our customers located throughout the United States. It will require respectful and effective communication with our carriers and customers. This position will be located in our Gainesville, GA office.
To start, the responsibilities for this position will consist of the following:
- Schedule and Dispatch Loads – this will require receiving and entering orders from our customers, analyzing most cost effective supply points and carriers to full fill the order and then dispatching the loads to our common carriers. Follow up on orders may include trouble shooting carrier loading problems, customer site issues and supply issues which all must be handled in a very expedited time frame.
- Available for night and weekend calls – you must be available to be on the night and weekend rotating call schedule among all the dispatchers.
- Supplier/Carrier Set-up and maintenance - includes analyzing availability of supply on a daily basis to maximize profits, setting up new supply points when needed, clearing carriers to access our fuel accounts at terminals as needed, request and analyze carrier freight rates, assist in maintaining carrier insurance certificates and carrier clearances in Indigo database.
- Sales and Billing Assistance – work with sales team on any supply or site issues or customer concerns. Assist billing team on any freight cost or paperwork issues as needed. Assist in the planning of any large delivery and pump out orders.
Education and essential skills required and/or preferred include:
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Accurate data entry and typing abilities
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Outlook
- Excellent organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills
