MUNI Diplomacy Fellow: At-A-Glance
The Summer Diplomacy Fellowship is a paid, five to nine-week summer contractor role designed for top university students and recent graduates with significant Model United Nations (MUN) and teaching experience. Diplomacy Fellows are essential to delivering a safe, engaging, and enriching Model United Nations Institute (MUNI) experience for students in a structured summer program. This role is well suited for individuals who are passionate about education, mentorship, and fostering global leadership skills. Fellows are responsible for creating a highly-rated, safe, and fun Model United Nations Institute experience where students can develop confidence, collaboration, and diplomacy skills. We will offer pre-program training designed to strengthen teaching and mentorship abilities, ensuring a high-quality learning experience. Diplomacy Fellows are expected to approach their roles with professionalism and enthusiasm, fostering an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and engaged. A central responsibility of this role is student safety and classroom management, which involves maintaining a respectful and inclusive learning space and addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
Additionally, Diplomacy Fellows lead interactive classroom sessions and facilitate discussions, debates, and simulations that make learning both fun and impactful. Through their dedication and leadership, Fellows help create an unforgettable summer experience that empowers students to grow as confident, informed leaders. Fellows receive various stipends on top of base pay to allow them to complete the work of the fellowship as outlined in the “what we offer” section of this description. As the fellowship is a contractor position, fellows are not eligible for benefits throughout the work period, including but not limited to: health insurance, worker’s compensation, paid leave, pension, or overtime pay.
