Clubhouse Assistant Manager/Associate

Position Summary

The Clubhouse Assistant Manager/Associate plays an essential role in creating a welcoming, safe, and inspiring environment for children 5 years and up,  and families at The Creative Clubhouse. Associates support daily operations by engaging visitors in creative, hands-on exploration & production while ensuring the safety and smooth functioning of the makerspace, and take on minor manager responsibilities in the absence of the Clubhouse Director/Owner. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Check guests in and out of the space, process payments, and verify completion of required waivers.
  • Monitor the safety of guests and the appropriate use of tools, materials, and equipment 
  • Demonstrate and guide children in using Clubhouse tools, materials, and technology safely and creatively.
  • Positively interact with children, coworkers,  and families to create an inclusive, encouraging, and fun environment.
  • Support children through the creative process by asking questions, offering resources, encouraging perseverance, and helping them work through challenges.
  • Assist with daily setup and cleanup of activity areas, maintaining an organized and inviting space, and managing staff within the space. 
  • Contribute new ideas for projects, activities, and improvements to enhance the Clubhouse experience & collaborate effectively with coworkers. 
  • Uphold The Creative Clubhouse mission and values.
  • Manage staff in the space when in the role of acting manager. 

Qualifications

  • Completion of some university/college coursework in education, business,  or a related field. Associates or BA preferred. 
  • One-two years experience working with children or families  in educational, recreational, or customer service settings preferred.
  • Friendly, positive attitude and ability to engage with families of diverse backgrounds.Dependable, responsible, and able to maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfort using art materials, tools, or technology (training provided).
  • Ability to manage and utilize basic computer/iPad applications/Payment applications

 

Work Environment

This position involves regular interaction with children ages 5 and up, hands-on creative materials, and a dynamic makerspace setting. Light lifting, cleaning, and active movement throughout the space are required.
