Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and curious Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team in Luling, TX. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to learn about environmental compliance, waste management, and safety practices within the aerospace industry.  We're looking for someone eager to learn and contribute to our environmental initiatives.

Key Learning Opportunities:

1. Environmental Compliance:
   • Learn about EPA, OSHA, and state-specific environmental regulations.
   • Observe how environmental compliance is maintained in a manufacturing setting.
2. Waste Management:
   • Gain an understanding of hazardous and non-hazardous waste classification.
   • Learn proper waste storage, labeling, and disposal practices.
3. Safety Procedures:
   • Participate in safety training sessions and learn about workplace safety protocols.
   • Assist in conducting basic safety audits and inspections.
4. Data Management:
   • Help maintain environmental and safety records using Microsoft Excel.
   • Learn how to organize and present environmental data effectively.
5. Sustainability:
   • Research industry best practices for waste reduction and recycling.
   • Contribute ideas for improving sustainability at our facility.

Responsibilities:

• Shadow EHS professionals during their daily activities.
• Assist in organizing and filing environmental and safety documents.
• Help prepare materials for employee training sessions.
• Participate in facility walkthroughs to learn about environmental and safety practices.
• Contribute to the development of environmental awareness materials.
• Assist with data entry and basic analysis of environmental metrics.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental science, Biology, Chemistry, EHS, Safety.
• Strong interest in environmental protection and workplace safety.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Enthusiasm for learning and applying new concepts.
