Social Media Internship

SOCIAL MEDIA AND MARKETING INTERNSHIP

This internship is supported, in part, by the 2026 Arts Internship program sponsored by the LA County Department of Arts and Culture. 

Positions will be open to currently enrolled undergraduate (2 or 4-year) and community college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County. Recent graduates may apply as long as they have completed their degree between May 1 and December 1, 2026. 

The Department of Arts and Culture encourages eligible students from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as disabled students, to apply. Eligible students may participate in the program only once.

Note:

  • Students who have already earned a BA, BS, or a higher degree are not eligible for the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program.
  • High school students who are co-enrolled in college classes are not eligible to participate in the program.
  • Students who have previously participated in the program are not eligible to participate a second time.
  • Students must possess the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Students who are invited to participate in the program will be asked to verify eligibility via college transcripts, driver’s license, and other documents to show enrollment status and/or LA County residence.

Hollywood Fringe is currently seeking a Social Media and Marketing Intern for the 2026 festival! The Social Media and Marketing Intern will work under the supervision of the Outreach and Operations Manager to plan and execute social media posts for the Hollywood Fringe Festival, the largest performing arts festival on the West Coast, taking place in Hollywood in June. They will help analyze social media data from past years in order to plan new branding for Hollywood Fringe 2027. The intern will also help staff the Box/Shop, Hollywood Fringe's in-person box office, and answer support emails in June.
 

Responsibilities

  • The intern will work 30-40 hours per week in June, and 20-24 through the rest of the internship (ending before October 1st, 2026). The intern will collaborate with the Outreach and Operations Manager on maintaining our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube) by answering inbox requests, posting pre-scheduled content and assisting in managing our content creation throughout the festival using templates with organization preferences via Canva.
  • The intern will also create unique and Instagram Reels, garnering festival interest.
  • In June, the intern will help staff our box office and work with our info@hollywoodfringe.org/support@hollywoodfringe.org system. 
  • Additionally, they will assist in day-of set-up and/or strike of major festival events: Opening Night, Awards and Closing Night parties, and grab content at each event.
  • After the festival, the intern will work on analysis of HFF’s social media past performance and strategy moving forward.
  • After the festival, in collaboration with the Outreach and Operations Manager, the intern will pull social media analytics from the prior year, create an analysis of past performance, and create new goals for the following season.
    • This process will result in a proposal for a new social media brand for 2027, including:
      • New goals for engagement + tracking stats during the season
      • New program templates via Canva
      • Video content outlines 

 

What to Expect

  • A fast-paced, collaborative, fun-filled work environment where projects and tasks can change regularly
  • Experience in program management and data collection (very important skill set for future arts administrators!)
  • Hands-on festival experience—intern will become well-versed in all aspects of the Hollywood Fringe Festival
     

Details

  • As a Hollywood Fringe Intern, you will receive:
    • Minimum wage
    • An official letter of recommendation after the execution of the internship
    • Credit for a college course (if needed)
  • 30-40 hours starting June 2nd, and 20-24 through the rest of the internship (ending before October 1st, 2026)
  • Intern will be supervised by the Outreach and Operations Manager, Jeannette Srinivasan
     

Qualifications

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Specific desire to be involved in late-night Hollywood Fringe events and planning
  • Background in customer service or community engagement (as an employee, student or volunteer) is a plus
  • Experience working at large events is great!
  • Experience with social media platforms, especially Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube 
  • Ability to keep a level head in the midst of great fun and confusion
  • DIY skills are a major plus
  • Must be proficient in Google Docs, especially Google Sheets and Google Forms
  • Basic skills in video/photo editing for social media
  • Experience with Canva is a plus
