General Description
The Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center is looking to hire multiple Attendants! The successful candidates for these positions perform varied public contact services, which may include customer service work, cash handling, staffing events and programs, routine labor and custodial work, light clerical duties, set up work, etc.
Guest Services Attendant
As a Guest Services Attendant, you will perform varied public contact services for events, meetings, conferences, conventions and other activities held at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. You may be assigned to staff such functions as coat check, public information desk, badge checker, service desk and other related event services. This position works with other Monona Terrace staff to ensure customer needs are being met. The work includes performing routine cash handling and light administrative duties such as preparing materials for mailing, making copies, or delivering messages. You will perform activities either independently or as part of a team. The Guest Services Attendant works under the general supervision of the Monona Terrace Retail Operations and Quality Manager.
Hours: Hours may vary. 0 – 20 hours per week, depending on demand with regular evening and weekend hours. Scheduled hours are event based and typically range between 6 AM - 1 AM, with a specific need for early mornings, late evenings, and weekend help.
The hourly wage consists of a base wage of $18.00 per hour plus $2.50 per hour bonus.

Guest Services Attendant
Customer Service
- Interact tactfully and courteously with patrons, clients and other users of Monona Terrace.
- Enforce entrance/attendance/building use policies and procedures in a customer service oriented way.
- Effectively manage complaints and difficult customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Answer informational questions in an accurate and tactful manner.
Communication
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Accurately and courteously explain entrance/attendance/building use policies and procedures.
- Use the phone system, and radios to communicate requests and ask questions.
Clerical Duties
- Perform routine cash handling.
- Perform light administrative duties such as preparing materials for mailing, making copies, and delivering messages.
- Find and handout maps, pamphlets, and event package materials.
- Use a computer to access Event Management Software and the e-mail system.
Perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
