Project Start/End Dates

Summer Semester (May– August) FLEXIBLE

We are looking for a creative undergraduate student to support our operations team in developing engaging newsletters and social media content! This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing and content creation.

The intern will have an opportunity to help Keystone Development Center (KDC) tell the story of cooperatives in our service area.

Responsibilities will include: writing newsletters, brainstorming content ideas, and creating social media content advertising KDC’s work, fun cooperative facts, and events in the solidarity economy. Our goal is for the intern to draft 4-6 newsletters, with content that can double as social media posts.

Additional projects that would be helpful, if appropriate in the time available, include designing, formatting and publishing our Annual Report and editing our website, www.kdc.coop.

Intern Requirements (prior experience/skills):

  • Expressed interest in learning more about cooperatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Canva and social media platforms (right now we have a LinkedIn and Facebook, interested in spreading to Instagram or Bluesky).
  • Comfortable and willing to work remotely.
  • Competency with Google Suite platform.

Hours /Week

We are flexible working with an intern who is available 0-5 hrs/week.

Are Interns Paid?

KDC is a small non-profit organization that relies primarily on grant funding to support our work. We are very unfortunately not able to provide an hourly wage at this time, but are able to provide a $500 stipend for 5 hours/week. Stipend calculations are based on 15-week internships, and can be adjusted for a shorter time frame. We are happy to work with your home institution for internship credit hours.
