Nells Nelson is looking for a passionate and eager Design Intern to join our growing company for the Spring 2026 semester. Nells Nelson is a luxury fashion brand known for elegance and timeless tailoring. Our collections are crafted with a focus on craftsmanship and exceptional quality, and all are made in Italy. We are dedicated to creating thoughtful pieces and are steadily growing our presence both locally and internationally. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the luxury fashion industry.
Role Description This is a Part-Time on-site internship for a Fashion Design Intern located in our New York, NY studio. The Design Intern will provide crucial support to the Creative Director and the design team, gaining exposure to the entire process from collection development to production. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn and contribute to multiple projects.
What You Will Learn & Do
- Assist in creating and maintaining line sheets and design boards.
- Help prepare for fittings and assist in updating technical packets (tech packs).
- Organize and track fabric, trim, and sample materials.
- Maintain the organization of the design studio, including the fabric library and sample archives.
- Assist with uploading products and updating content on the company website.
- Provide support for social media and digital marketing efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Fashion Design program or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of design software and tools (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to support multiple tasks.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a strong desire to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- A portfolio of work or class projects that demonstrates design skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms is a plus.
- Ability to communicate in Italian is a plus, as our atelier is in Italy.
Details
- 2-3 Days a week, flexible hours per day.
- This is a paid internship. We can also work with your school to provide academic credit.
