Marketing Intern

As a Marketing Intern to support the Virginia Women and Family Support Center (VAWFSC) storytelling, and communications.  In this role, you will provide compelling posts and stories to advance the mission of the VAWFSC. Our mission to provides housing for pregnant homeless women and children and maternal health advocacy and resources. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to content creation, executing daily administrative functions in support of our Media and Communications Strategist and Marketing Manager. You will engage in comprehensive market research and employ analytics techniques to gather essential data, contributing to informed decision-making. Your adeptness in updating databases and maintaining statistical information will be key to ensuring the success of the Marketing department. Dive into the world of promotional events, both traditional and digital, assisting and active participation. Your role extends to the creation of compelling online content, promotional literature, and presentations, amplifying VAWFSC's presence in the market. Direct communication with organizations will be integral, fostering trusting relationships and gathering feedback for continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Execute daily administrative tasks to ensure the smooth functionality and coordination of the Marketing department.
  • Support the marketing team in organizing various projects aimed at promoting the mission and services of VAWFSC.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analyze consumer rating reports/questionnaires to inform strategic marketing decisions.
  • Employ marketing analytics techniques to gather essential data, including social media metrics and web analytics.
  • Update and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and inventories with statistical, information.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of promotional events, both traditional and digital. Attend events to ensure their success.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling promotional presentations that effectively communicate the mission and impact of VAWFSC.
  • Compose and post online content on the organization's website and social media accounts to raise awareness and engagement.
  • Write marketing literature, including brochures and press releases, to enhance VAWFSC’s presence in the market.
  • Communicate directly with clients, fostering trusting relationships and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a marketing assistant/marketing student
  • Good understanding of office management and marketing principles
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
  • Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach
  • Good knowledge of market research techniques and databases
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Canva or Adobe Illustrator, marketing computer software and online applications (CRM tools, Online analytics, Google AdWords etc.)
  • Exquisite communication and people skills
  • High School diploma; BSc in Marketing, Business or relevant field is a strong advantage
