Position Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and responsible individuals to join our summer team as Tutor-Counselors (TCs). This position is ideal for current college students, recent graduates, and aspiring educators who are passionate about mentorship, leadership, and youth development.
Tutor-Counselors play a vital role in supporting high school students as they experience college life, build academic skills, and grow personally during the Upward Bound Summer Academy.
Program Commitment
- 1 week of paid training
- 6 weeks living on campus (with some weekends off)
- 1 week chaperoning an out-of-state educational trip
- Total commitment: June 3 – July 20
Compensation & Benefits
- $3,800 stipend
- Free room and board during the 6-week residential program

Out-of-State Educational Trip
During the final week of the program, Tutor-Counselors will serve as chaperones for an out-of-state college tour and educational experience. Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and ensuring student safety throughout the trip
- Maintaining schedules and coordinating group movement
- Facilitating meaningful learning experiences and discussions
- Supporting student engagement and personal growth
