Content Creator Intern

Status: Internship Position (10 hours/week, 5-month commitment) 

Reports to: Social Media Manager 

Location: Petaluma, California (Remote Considered)

Position Summary:

Kala Brand Music Co. is seeking a Content Creator Intern to join our marketing team. This role focuses on creating engaging, platform-native content across social channels, with an emphasis on both short-form video and visually compelling still imagery. The best candidates will be college juniors or seniors with social media experience, creativity, and enthusiasm for musical instruments, eager to share and execute on content ideas across our extensive line of quality products.

Content Creator Intern tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Create original content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook under direction of Social Media Manager and in collaboration with content team
  • Develop and pitch original content ideas using engaging formats, with a focus on storytelling, tone, and visual execution
  • Film and edit short-form videos (product-focused, lifestyle, and trend-based)
  • Collaborate with the social media team to execute weekly content needs
  • Participate in content planning sessions and brainstorming

Your skills should include:

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in college
  • Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, etc.)
  • Creative content creation abilities
  • Understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Interest in music, instruments, or creative culture (ukulele experience a plus)
  • Enjoy being on camera or behind it
  • Ability to commit to 5 months, up to 10 hours per week
