This full-time position is based in Soho, NYC and reports to the Founder + Designer.

Established in New York City in 2014, Shahla Karimi Jewelry is an architectural fine-jewelry house dedicated to modern storytelling through craft. Our work is shaped by the idea that love looks different today—more fluid, more expressive, more diverse—and our pieces reflect that shift through thoughtful engineering and intentional design. As a women-owned and operated brand, we are passionate about empowering women through the art of jewelry. We are creating a new concept store that will reimagine what a jewelry atelier can be. Position Overview:
We are seeking a Bespoke Designer to guide clients through the complete creative and technical journey of custom jewelry. This role becomes even more meaningful as we build our Tribeca flagship for 2026—a studio designed specifically to elevate bespoke work and showcase architectural, enduring pieces.

 

You’ll help clients translate their stories into design, shape one-of-a-kind pieces with technical and artistic rigor, and contribute to a cultural moment where love looks different today. You bring a strong design point of view, supported by a thoughtful portfolio of work. If you want your work to have emotional legacy and technical depth, this role offers that path.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead bespoke consultations and set creative direction
  • Establish expectations, timelines, and budgets with clarity
  • Sketch concepts and collaborate with CAD artists to develop designs
  • Present and articulate design choices with confidence
  • Guide clients through stone education and selection
  • Oversee technical accuracy and production feasibility
  • Communicate key milestones and approvals throughout the process
  • Deliver completed pieces with a walkthrough of craftsmanship and intention
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
  • Be sales-driven and a key contributor to company growth

 

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience in fine-jewelry design, bespoke work, or architectural/industrial design
  • Design portfolio required
  • Proficiency in design software–Adobe illustrator & InDesign required; Rhino / CAD preferred 
  • Comfort collaborating with CAD and production teams
  • Ability to clearly articulate design thinking and guide client decision-making
  • Strong understanding of stone quality, setting engineering, and wearability
  • Bachelor’s degree or Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Degree preferred
  • Previous fine jewelry sales, ideally within a luxury retail or bespoke environment
  • Proven record of success in high volume, high value sales environments
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to engage and connect with customers
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a small team
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and entrepreneurial, with a proven ability to take initiative, identify opportunities, build lasting relationships, and drive business growth

Schedule:

  • Full-time in-person role located in Soho NYC
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability (during busy season, sales or events)
  • 10:00am to 6:00pm, with the knowledge that we have a startup culture and your day may extend past listed hours

 

Salary Description:

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $100,000, not including discretionary bonus up to $50,000. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s job duties, experience, and expertise. We will also consider higher level candidates and salary will be adjusted accordingly.
