OUSMI Counselor

We have one counselor position available for the Oakland University Summer Mathematics Institute (OUSMI). More information about this institute can be found at https://www.oakland.edu/math/outreach/ousmi/. Job duties involve supervising various activities within the institute. We are offering MTH 4662 Geometric Structures and MOR 4554 Linear and Integer Optimization. The institute runs from July 6 to August 14, 2026 but the position will start the week of June 29. The week of June 29 will only require about 5 hours but each subsequent week requires approximately 35-40 hours, and the pay rate is $21 per hour. Ideal candidates should hold an undergraduate degree in mathematics and have completed graduate courses. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in math camps for gifted students, especially those with experience in OUSMI, as well as current Oakland University students. Preference will also be given to those who have taken courses in geometric structure and linear programming at the senior undergraduate or graduate level.
