Who We Are 

Liberty Grove Schools is a growing, community-centered public charter school located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded with a commitment to academic excellence and whole-child development, we serve a diverse population of students and families who are deeply invested in education and community impact.

About the Role 

Do you love helping young learners discover the connections between science, technology, and the world around them? Liberty Grove Schools is seeking committed educators to provide academic instruction in an elementary learning environment for STEM and Robotics. Join our LGS team as we continue to grow!

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Provide academic subject instruction
  • Lesson Plan Internalization: Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum and the Indiana Academic Standards 
  • Project-Based Learning Activities: Prepare class projects and activities to ensure subject matter mastery
  • Differentiated Teaching and Learning Approach: Plan and use learning strategies, activities, equipment, and technology to accommodate the learning needs of each student while embracing the abilities students have already gained.  
  • Provide routine feedback to students, colleagues, and parents regarding progress based on observed performance and development 
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Conduct ongoing assessment of student academic achievement through formal and informal testing
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, supporting the physical, social, and emotional development of students 
  • Cultivate positive student behavior by establishing meaningful relationships and transparent routines aligned to Liberty Grove Schools' core values 
  • Organize, develop, and coordinate special STEM events/activities 
  • Serve as a liaison to prospective or selected STEM vendors, to determine the best resources, options and innovations that will optimize the learning experience for students and staff 
  • Organize and manage inventory of STEM Lab supplies and equipment for the classroom environment
  • Initiate new programs that support a STEM vision that implements Indiana state science standards and work with classroom teachers to integrate STEM into other curricular areas 
  • Promote and publicize the LGS STEM program to the community via the website, communicating with parents, providing information to the local news media, and sharing information through the School’s communication channels
  • Attend professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research
  • Collaboration: Participation in department, school, district, and parent meetings; including staff development 
  • Assign and grade classwork, homework, test, and assignments 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field required; Graduate Degree preferred 
  • Knowledge of STEM and Robotics best practices for elementary education
  • Evidence of productive experience with facilitating problem- based learning
