Turfgrass Operations & Agronomy Associate
Get inside the ropes at Chanticlair! Join our agronomy team to master high-level turf diagnostics, advanced moisture stress strategy, integrated pest scouting and more! Expected Responsibilities:
- IPM Scouting: Perform daily Integrated Pest Management (IPM) walks, identifying and logging disease, pest, and stress pressure to guide our response.
- Irrigation Operation: Assist in the daily operation, scheduling, and basic troubleshooting of the course’s automatic irrigation system (satellites and control software).
- Nutrient Support: Assist in the precise execution of our specialized nutrient and plant health programs.
Specific Skills We Are Looking For:
- Strong turfgrass, pest, and disease identification skills.
- Observational excellence and attention to detailed plant health changes.
- Knowledge of irrigation principles (basic hydraulics, troubleshooting leaks, operating satellites).
- Comfort with mobile technology for on-course data logging (including an interest in AI technology)
Minimum Requirements:
- Active enrollment in, or a graduate of, a University Turfgrass Management, Plant Science, or Horticulture program (or equivalent Ag/Landscape experience).
- Reliability: Proven ability to consistently meet a 5:00 AM start time.
- Physical work ethic, including heavy lifting, and the ability to work in all New England weather conditions.
