Color Artist – Multimedia Team (A Free Bird)

Position Overview
A Free Bird is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Volunteer Colorist / Color Artist to support the Multimedia team. This role focuses on enhancing the visual tone and final look of video content created by and for the children we support. The Colorist will work closely with Visual Effects Artists, Video Editors, and the broader Multimedia team to ensure all content is visually cohesive, emotionally impactful, and aligned with the organization’s creative vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform color correction and color grading for music videos and multimedia content
  • Collaborate with Visual Effects Artists and the Multimedia team to achieve a consistent visual style
  • Evaluate raw and edited footage to enhance color, tone, and overall image quality
  • Contribute to the final visual presentation of content using industry-standard color grading tools
  • Work closely with the Creative Director to execute the intended artistic vision while adding thoughtful creative input
  • Ensure visual consistency across all content for branding and storytelling purposes
  • Assist with multimedia projects and support content releases across platforms such as YouTube and social media

Qualifications

  • 1 or more years of experience with color grading and correction in video production
  • Proficiency in tools such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar software
  • Strong understanding of color theory, lighting, and visual consistency
  • Ability to create stylistically consistent and polished color-graded visuals
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with creative teams and incorporate feedback

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on music videos or creative multimedia projects
  • Familiarity with cinematic color grading techniques and workflows
  • Understanding of post-production pipelines and integration with VFX and editing teams
