STILL HIRING: 1 MALE AND 1 FEMALE COUNSELOR

 

We are a small and very unique outdoor camp for children ages 8-15, currently seeking Counselors/Mentors for our sleep away camp. If you love children, are a creative thinker, INSPIRING, enjoy nature and have a kind heart, we are looking for you to join us this Summer. Your room and board are also included. *pay is negotiable, based on experience.

The health and safety of campers and staff are our top priority. We provide counselor supervision and training to help ensure campers have a safe experience. Our staff and program encourage campers to gain independence, learn new skills, and build confidence while maintaining the structure and supervision necessary for their safety.

Another key component to our program is having Counselors/Mentors share their individual passions with the campers. For example, we had a cellist join us and they offered cello lessons in the afternoons during choice time. We worked closely with the counselor to help develop a curriculum, rent cellos and troubleshoot implementing the lessons. We then gave support throughout the season. If you don't have a particular passion you would like to share but are interested in learning a new skill, please reach out to us! We have worked with some amazing and inspiring counselors in the past, that went on to deliver great experiences to the campers (like archery, soap making, whittling...).

Our counselors are an integral part of providing excellent care to our campers. Each counselor is responsible for a cabin of 5/6 campers. The counselors sleep in the cabin with the campers and supervise the group throughout the day. All of our counselors attend our 3-day orientation to train in program areas, learn our emergency procedures, and understand health and safety precautions. Counselors remind and/or help campers with personal hygiene, including the use of sunscreen, keeping hydrated, changing clothes daily, brushing teeth, and showering at least every other day.

Experience in one or more of the following preferred: RIE, Waldorf, Reggio, Emergent Curriculum, Coyote Mentoring, Kamana Naturalist Training, Anake Student/Grad, Eagle Scout, 3D and 2D arts, theatre, Fiber Arts, Music, Lifeguard... Open to other skils/Hobbies
