Compensation: Starting at $400/week (based on experience)

Position Overview:
Camp Takajo is seeking passionate and energetic Basketball Counselors to coach, mentor, and lead campers in a dynamic and competitive basketball program. Counselors will work with campers ranging from elementary through high school, helping players develop skills, confidence, and a love for the game in a fun and structured environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coach and instruct basketball fundamentals including shooting, dribbling, passing, defense, and game strategy
- Lead daily drills, skill sessions, and competitive games
- Organize and officiate leagues, tournaments, and special events
- Coach intercamp games and prepare teams for competition
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for campers
- Supervise campers in both program and residential settings
- Collaborate with staff to support overall camp operations
- Assist in maintaining equipment and facilities
- Complete an end-of-summer program report to support future development of the basketball program
Qualifications:
- Completed at least one year of college or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong basketball background (playing and/or coaching experience)
- Ability to teach and engage players of varying skill levels
- Leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
- Experience working with children preferred
