Job Description

Community Christian School in Pease, Minnesota, is seeking a full-time Early Childhood Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. CCS serves students from age 3 through 8th Grade and has faithfully met a vital need in our community for 112 years by providing an education rooted in eternal purpose. The Early Childhood Teacher should demonstrate a deep love for Scripture and a clear understanding of how to apply biblical truth in the lives of young students. This role requires a genuine passion for teaching and nurturing children in their early years of development. The ideal candidate is a professing Christian who wholeheartedly supports Community Christian School’s statement of faith and mission.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Foster a Christ-centered classroom that nurtures students’ spiritual growth, modeling biblical truth in both teaching and relationships
  • Engage and inspire students through developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning experiences
  • Plan and implement curriculum and instructional activities aligned with developmental milestones and school standards rooted in a biblical worldview.
  • Prepare lesson materials, manage classroom routines, and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents
  • Cultivate a safe, healthy, and positive learning environment that supports the curriculum for physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development of each child
  • Build strong, respectful partnerships through clear and consistent communication with families, administration, and staff
  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly; maintain accurate records and provide reports as required
  • Guide student behavior with grace and consistency in accordance with biblical principles and the Parent/Student Handbook
  • Maintain an organized, well-managed classroom that supports student independence and responsibility
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student success and school initiatives
  • Adhere to all Community Christian School policies, procedures, and professional expectations
  • Supervise an Educational Aide to assist with routine and expectation reinforcement, student support, and student supervision.


Education, Qualifications, and Experience

  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ who demonstrates a consistent Christian testimony
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Current teaching license; Early Childhood Education licensure preferred
  • Understanding of child development and best practices in early childhood education
  • Demonstrated ability to create a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment
  • Strong classroom management skills rooted in grace, consistency, and clear expectations
  • Ability to build authentic, caring relationships with students and families
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a heart for serving students, families, and the school community
  • Willingness to grow professionally and implement research-based instructional practices


Compensation:

Salary base is $35,000 with upward steps commensurate with education and experience. Employee health insurance is offered, 403(b) 3% match from the employer, and additional benefits are included with the position.
