Business Management Intern
Purpose of the job
Business Management Intern will support the team in daily operations and ongoing projects across sales, marketing, and business management functions. This role provides hands-on experience in customer engagement, marketing campaigns, business operations, and process improvement. The intern will develop professional skills, gain exposure to AkzoNobel’s business processes, and explore career opportunities within the organization.
Key responsibilities
Sales and Customer Engagement
- Support customer-focused activities, including responding to inquiries, monitoring order processes, and assisting with issue resolution under supervision.
- Participate in projects that enhance the customer experience, such as process improvements and feedback analysis.
- Conduct research and analyze data related to customer satisfaction, service metrics, and performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments (e.g., Sales, Logistics) to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Marketing and Communications
- Assist with the execution of marketing campaigns, product promotions, and customer engagement activities.
- Contribute to market research by collecting and analyzing data on competitors, customers, and industry trends.
- Help prepare marketing materials, presentations, and product information sheets.
- Support event coordination and communication with customers for marketing initiatives under guidance.
Business Operations and Management
- Assist with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks to support the team and ensure efficient workflow.
- Prepare reports and presentations on business and marketing performance, customer service initiatives, and project outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and standards.
- Identify and contribute ideas for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction across sales, marketing, and business processes.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and workshops to gain a deeper understanding of business, sales, and marketing processes.
General Commercial Functions
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers, demonstrating professionalism and a willingness to learn.
- Adhere to all AkzoNobel safety, quality, and compliance guidelines in daily activities.
- Take on additional duties or special assignments as requested to support business needs and further develop professional skills.
Level of autonomy
The intern will work under close supervision and is expected to seek guidance and approval from the manager before making independent decisions. Autonomy is limited due to the temporary and developmental nature of the role.
Job requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Management, or a relevant field
- Completed 2+ full years at a4 year university
- 3.0 GPA or above (cumulative)
Relevant Experience:
Previous internship or part-time work experience is an advantage but not required.
