Schedule: 24 Student Contact Hours Weekly, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm School Days
Pay Range: Starting at $41,000, depending on experience
Position Summary
Veritas School seeks a full-time Logic School Mathematics Teacher to instruct students in Logic School. The teacher will cultivate mathematical understanding and logical reasoning while supporting the mission of Veritas School to develop
wisdom, virtue, and godliness through Christ-centered classical education.
The Logic School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging instruction that develops foundational mathematical skills, problem-solving ability, and clear reasoning in preparation for upper-level mathematics in the Rhetoric School.
This position reports to the Head of School and works collaboratively with faculty to support the academic and spiritual formation of students.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics courses for Logic School grades, using a curriculum consistent with the classical Christian model of
education. - Prepare lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials that promote mathematical understanding and
logical thinking. - Foster an orderly, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity and diligence in learning.
- Assess student progress through homework, quizzes, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as appropriate for a part-time faculty role.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to support curriculum alignment and student success.
- Integrate a biblical worldview into instruction and model Christ-like character in interactions with students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in mathematics, education, or related field preferred.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn classical Christian educational philosophy.
- Ability to clearly explain mathematical concepts and guide students in logical reasoning.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A personal commitment to the Christian faith and agreement with the mission and statement of faith of Veritas School.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time faculty position, typically teaching Logic School mathematics courses for grades 5–8. Specific teaching schedules will be determined in coordination with school leadership.
