Position Title: Boys Resident Manager
Location: Oak Hill Academy Reports To: Dean of Students / Director of Residential Life Employment Type: Full-Time, Residential (Housing Provided)
Position Summary
Oak Hill Academy seeks a dedicated, structured, and student-centered Boys Resident Manager to support the daily operations of residential life and contribute to a safe, disciplined, and supportive dormitory environment. This role plays a critical part in student development by reinforcing expectations, building relationships, and maintaining accountability within the dorm setting.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, consistency, and the ability to balance firm expectations with a supportive and restorative approach to student engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Student Supervision & Support
· Provide daily supervision of students within assigned dorm(s)
· Build positive, professional relationships with students to support personal growth and accountability
· Enforce school policies, including dorm expectations, behavior standards, and structured routines
· Monitor student well-being and escalate concerns as appropriate
Residential Operations
· Oversee dorm operations during assigned duty hours, including evenings and weekends
· Ensure adherence to key routines (study hall, quiet time, lights out, room checks, etc.)
· Conduct regular room inspections to maintain cleanliness and order consistent with Oak Hill standards
· Assist in managing dorm logistics, including room assignments and transitions
Behavior Management & Accountability
· Address student behavior concerns promptly and professionally
· Implement disciplinary measures in alignment with school policies (e.g., restrictions, work detail, campus status)
· Document incidents and communicate effectively with leadership and relevant stakeholders
· Participate in investigations and support Honor Court processes when necessary
Communication & Collaboration
· Maintain consistent communication with the Dean of Students, faculty, and coaching staff
· Engage with parents as directed, providing clear and professional updates when needed
· Collaborate with fellow Resident Managers to ensure continuity of coverage and expectations
Campus Engagement
· Support and attend campus activities, including athletic events, study sessions, and student programming
· Contribute to a positive dorm culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and community
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree preferred (Education, Counseling, or related field a plus)
· Experience working with adolescents in a structured environment (boarding school, athletics, residential life, or similar)
· Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
· Ability to maintain professionalism in high-accountability environments
· Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended duty rotations
