First Grade Teacher

Surad Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Montessori methods and a strong commitment to mastery-based education. This role involves creating and implementing engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of students, fostering an environment where every child can thrive.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an elementary curriculum based on Montessori principles and mastery-based learning.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the intellectual, social, and emotional development of each student.
• Use hands-on learning materials / games and activities to teach concepts.
• Assess students' progress regularly and provide individualized support to ensure mastery of concepts.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate learning with all subjects and school activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and any areas of concern.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Montessori certification or experience with Montessori teaching methods.
• Experience with mastery-based learning and assessment.
• Strong classroom and activity management skills and the ability to create a safe, encouraging environment for physical activity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for promoting student wellness and a commitment to student success.
