SpartanCard Center Office Assistant
As an office assistant you will be responsible for greeting customers and providing them with the answers or services that they require. This will include (but is not limited to): explaining the functions of the SpartanCard, producing ID’s, and adding value to cards. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, fielding front desk questions for SpartanCard and Postal, answering the phone, faxing information, and specific projects associated with producing and adding value to ID cards.

We are seeking an energetic student who would enjoy working in a highly visible campus department. This student should be interested in learning essential job skills that will prepare the student for challenges today as well as post graduation.
Student’s Responsibilities:
Customer Service – This is our top priority. It is the employee’s duty to provide friendly, accurate service to anyone and everyone who walks through the UNCG Business Center’s door. If the customer has a problem that you cannot help with, you must direct them to the appropriate office or person. If we can provide service or information to the customer then the employee will do so efficiently and thoroughly.
Scheduled Hours – If you know that you will not be able to work a scheduled shift you must inform the SpartanCard Center as soon as you know the exact date and time or no later than a week prior to your absence (this includes informing the office of time you will need off for Spring Break, Winter Break, final exams, and your last day of work at the end of the semester).
Work Environment – Please remember that it is very important that the customers and other employees of the SpartanCard Center feel comfortable while in our office. Refrain from using strong language or offering political or religious opinions. Use your best judgment when determining how to approach a customer or other staff member.
SpartanCard Center’s Responsibilities:
Training – As your employer, the SpartanCard Center is responsible for training and providing you with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully complete your job.
Feedback – To help you, as well as the office, the SpartanCard Center will provide you with feedback on your job performance. If you do not receive feedback or would like to receive further feedback, please ask your supervisor.
Scheduled Hours – The SpartanCard Center will set up a firm work schedule with you based on your class schedule and the needs of the office before you begin your employment. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Work Environment – It is the employer’s responsibility to provide you with a comfortable work environment. You will also be given the necessary equipment and supplies to fulfill your job duties.
