Graduate Structural Engineer 

AMI Consulting Engineers is a growing, multi‑disciplinary engineering firm dedicated to delivering innovative, practical, and cost‑effective solutions for our clients. Our Pensacola office supports a wide range of structural engineering projects across the Gulf Coast. We value curiosity, collaboration, and commitment to high‑quality work.

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a recent or upcoming graduate who is eager to apply academic knowledge to real‑world projects while learning from experienced engineers. You will assist in the design, analysis, and inspection of structural systems under the guidance of licensed professional engineers.

Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with impeccable follow-throughs while taking ownership of each project assigned. They should be passionate about their work, enjoy variety and like problem solving.  This candidate should also be team oriented, honest and have a helpful disposition with a positive, “can-do” attitude. Travel and field work may be required to complete projects.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the design and analysis of structural components for buildings, foundations, and specialty structures
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and technical reports
  • Support field inspections, site visits, and construction observations
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and drafting staff
  • Apply relevant building codes, standards, and engineering principles
  • Participating in project meetings and communicating effectively with internal teams and clients

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License, as travel may be required to complete projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural Engineering (or expected graduation Spring 2026)
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as RISA, STAAD, SAP2000, or similar (a plus, not required)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
  •  EIT certification or intent to obtain within 12 months of hire
