Process Engineering Intern

Kyocera has a temporary internship position for a Process Engineering Intern at our San Diego, CA facility, with frequent travel to the Tijuana, MX facility (KMX). Candidates selected for hire will be hired through one of Kyocera’s approved staffing partners

 

Pay is $25 per hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

We are seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support a project focused on standardizing manufacturing processes for KMX products. This internship will assist engineering teams with analyzing current product process flows, identifying opportunities for process standardization, and supporting testing activities to help improve product quality for future product lines. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in grouping KMX products into families based on package and technology types (e.g., LDMOS, SMD, traditional TO products).
  • Collect and document existing manufacturing process flows and process conditions, including detailed plating processes.
  • Support analysis to determine whether processes are consistent within product families and help identify appropriate standardized process flows.
  • Assist with confirmation testing of standardized process flows using existing production parts.
  • Support efforts to extract and document KMX design rules and process rules from current products.
  • Prepare documentation and summaries of findings for the engineering team.

Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Electrical, Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Ability to review technical processes and organize process information.
  • Willingness to travel and visit KMX facilities as needed.
  • Valid passport required; Global Entry preferred.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred to support communication during facility visits.
