Youth Pastor

First Baptist Church of Clearwater

Clearwater, Kansas

First Baptist Church of Clearwater is looking for a Youth Pastor to guide our middle and high school students by teaching the Bible, building relationships, and leading with a Christ-centered focus.

We want someone who loves Jesus, trusts the Bible, values the local church, and cares about helping students grow in their faith. This role is a great fit for someone early in ministry who feels called to serve students and families directly.

This job is not mainly about administration. It focuses on getting to know students, teaching God’s Word, building relationships, working with parents, and helping young people become part of the church community.

Position Overview

The Youth Pastor will lead our ministry for middle and high school students. He will help students grow in their faith through teaching the Bible, discipleship, mentoring, encouragement, and getting involved in church life.

He will also work with the Senior Pastor and church leaders to support families and help strengthen the church’s spiritual life.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the church’s ministry to middle school and high school students
  • Teach the Bible faithfully and clearly in youth gatherings, Bible studies, and discipleship settings
  • Build strong, healthy relationships with students and encourage their spiritual growth
  • Disciple students personally through mentoring, conversation, prayer, and pastoral care
  • Plan and lead youth ministry activities such as camps, retreats, outreach events, fellowship wopportunities, and service projects
  • Partner with parents in the spiritual development of their children
  • Recruit, encourage, and help train adult volunteers who serve in youth ministry
  • Help students become connected to the broader life of the church through worship, service, and relationships
  • Maintain appropriate safety practices, healthy boundaries, and wise oversight in ministry to minors
  • Serve alongside the Senior Pastor and assist with broader pastoral ministry as needed

  • Ability to relate well to middle school and high school students
  • Ability to teach Scripture clearly and faithfully
  • Good judgment, healthy relational boundaries, and dependability
  • Desire to serve in and through the local church

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college preferred
  • Seminary training is welcome but not required
  • Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
  • Willingness to become a member of First Baptist Church of Clearwater
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • A life that reflects the character qualifications for Christian leadership described in Scripture

Reporting Structure

  • Reports directly to the Senior Pastor
  • Works with youth ministry volunteers and serves alongside church leadership

Compensation and Benefits

  • For candidates with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college: $2,500 per month salary, plus $500 per month scholarship support toward a Master’s degree through an SBC online seminary
  • For candidates who already hold a seminary degree: $3,000 per month salary
  • A church-provided two-bedroom house with utilities included, valued at approximately $20,000 annually
  • Opportunity to gain meaningful hands-on ministry experience in a local church setting
