Veterinary Technician

Small animal clinic in Johnston, Iowa, looking for a full-time veterinary technician.  Our team multi-tasks so candidates must have the ability to assess situations independently and be critical thinkers.  Candidates must have an attentiveness to detail. Customer service is an absolute must for our practice.  Due to the technical nature of this job, candidates must come from an accredited program.  We will consider applicants graduating in the spring of 2026. Our ideal candidate is inquisitive, confident, and motivated with a strong desire to use what you have learned and expand on that knowledge.  Your skills will be used. 

Veterinary Technician Tasks:

In-house lab work—we do 98% of lab work in -house (VetScan, Lasercyte, Heska Element, Bionote)

Providing pre-operative through recovery care for patients

Providing client education—you are an important part of case management

Learn cold-laser therapy and/or rehab, if that interests you

Expand on knowledge of low-stress handling

 We have Fear-Free certified staff to help you understand how best to work with patients. Our training program is stepped to enhance success! We are not open on Wednesday, so you will always have that day off. The expected hours are 35-40 per week (M, T, Th, F, and Sat).  Pay range is 18.00-20.00.  We offer employee discounts, paid time off, and a retirement plan. You have skills—ready to use them?
