Student Assistant - Data Entry/Processing - Department of Conservation (Bakersfield, CA)

The Department of Conservation’s CalGEM Central District is seeking to hire eleven Student Assistants to support a wide range of data and administrative tasks that help maintain and improve our oil and gas program records. Students will assist with organizing, scanning, reviewing, and archiving well files, logs, maps, and other documents; entering and updating data in various databases; helping reduce backlogs in project reviews; conducting basic research to support engineering and geologic staff; compiling information for reports and mapping projects; and assisting with general office support as needed.

Some assignments may involve working with historical well records, reviewing application materials for completeness, preparing data for technical evaluations, or helping organize geologic and water quality information. Duties will vary depending on team assignment, but all positions involve hands-on experience with data management, document processing, and supporting technical staff in a professional regulatory environment.
