Responsibilities
Our team is seeking an ambitious Geotechnical Engineer to work out of our Halethorpe, MD office. Given that E2CR is a relatively small business with a flat organizational structure, the candidates will be encouraged to wear many hats and seek out new responsibilities. This is an excellent growth opportunity with competitive compensation. The primary duties of the new hires are to:
- Assist with development of geotechnical engineering designs, sketches, reports, and estimates for a variety of different projects including airport pavements, roadways, shallow & deep foundations for commercial use, seawalls, bridges, etc.
- Conduct geotechnical drilling inspection, including collecting samples and preparing boring logs
- Manage field investigations by serving as a liaison between the field crew, management, and clients - this role has a clear pathway to becoming a Project Manager
- Perform and interpret the results of in-situ testing including Pressuremeter (PMT), Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), and Blade Dilatomer (DMT)
- Conduct slope stability, soil analysis, and other geotechnical engineering studies
- Communicate with both internal and external clients
- Perform geotechnical technical analyses, prepare proposals and reports, and coordinate with designers and contractors to implement recommendations on plans and in the field

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with or without a specialization Geotechnical Engineering
- Willingness to obtain EIT title and eventually obtain PE or willingness to obtain PG
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prepare complete, concise and organized engineering calculations and reports
- Willingness to conduct and manage field inspections including drilling inspection and in-situ testing. Field Work expected to not exceed 50% of the time
- Good verbal and written communication skills
