Employment Developer-Coach
Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is one of the largest human services providers in California that operates a variety of programs to serve the poor and strives to find permanent solutions to crisis situations by offering clients the tools and resources needed to achieve greater self-reliance and stability in their lives.
This individual works with employers to determine skills and behavioral requirements for jobs to be filled by clients. Coaches clients on work expectations including transportation to job, behavior at work, required job skills and work production.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts pre-employment training classes for clients, including job search strategies, employer requirements, employee responsibility, civil rights, grievance procedures and labor market information.
- Regularly assesses the progress and supportive service needs of clients.
- Implements on-the-job training for clients in designated geographic areas.
- Develops employer training sites with public, non-profit and private–for profit organizations that can provide a well structured work environment, proper supervision and offer regular full or part-time employment upon completion of training.
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection enrollment and assignment of clients in designated geographic areas.
- Ensures accurate and timely submission of client time sheets and conducts periodic audits to verify compliance with payroll recruitments.
- Responsible for client job development, placement referral and follow-up on completion of job training.
Qualifications:
- Two years of college education.
- One to three years related experience.
- English fluency and fluency in one of the following languages Armenian, Russian, Ukrainian, Farsi, Arabic or Spanish required.
- Effective handling of public contact and relationships.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Displays sensitivity, tact and responsiveness in various situations and needs.
- maintains a high level of confidentiality.
