QWX System Analyst

Job Summary

The QWX System Analyst plays a key role in the Sciemetric professional services organization.     

In this position you will work directly with customers to help deploy our proprietary QualityWorX  (QWX) suite of manufacturing 4.0 software.   You will  work on a broad range of data collection systems  (IOTT, APIs,  REST API, Dashboards, data concentrators, data parsers,  and web service applications) that span a variety of industries including blue chip companies who use Sciemetric technology to understand manufacturing process behavior and find defects in their products. 

Duties:

  • Assist with the deployment of our QualityWorX suite of products 
  • Support the development of custom gateways and data decoders.
  • Review and analyze SQL server and API logs to identify root cause 
  • Analyze customer’s architecture and provide recommendations on data connection, data storage requirements and upgrade paths.
  • Configure data collection from plant floor systems.
  • Acts as a liaison between the software development team,  project managers,  and customer to communicate requirements, remove roadblocks and resolve open issues. 
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting and problem diagnosis.
  • Conduct customer training and provide recommendations on best practices and data management.

 

Minimum Candidate requirements

  1. Degree in Computer Science 
  2. Experience with  Microsoft SQL and Windows Server
  3. A working knowledge of system networking and security practices.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and execute tasks with minimal supervision
  5. A willingness to travel occasionally  (10-20% of time)

 

Desirable Attributes 

  • Microsoft  SQL MCSA. Or MCSE certifications
  • 2-3 years working on plant floor manufacturing data collection systems
  • Familiarity  with XML or JSON files 
  • Experience with REST API and other database to database transfer protocols 
  • Knowledge of OPC,  DeviceWise or other PLC data collection systems
  • Experience with Cognex camera systems and programming of snippets
