About the Role

We are a premier sporting goods manufacturer and distributor serving major national retailers. We are seeking a proactive Logistics & Order Processing Coordinator to bridge the gap between our sales orders and physical distribution. This role focuses heavily on end-to-end logistics coordination—from securing quotes to managing inbound/outbound shipments—while providing essential administrative support for order processing.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Freight Coordination:

  • Shipment Management: Coordinate all inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely delivery and receipt of goods.
  • Carrier Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for truckers, freight forwarders, and LTL carriers.
  • Scheduling: Arrange and manage shipment pickups and delivery schedules.
  • Quoting: Request and compare freight quotes to ensure cost-effective shipping solutions.
  • Dispute Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in shipping documentation, freight bills, or delivery issues.

Order Processing & Admin Support:

  • EDI Management: Process high-volume customer orders for major retailers (Walmart, Amazon, Big 5, etc.) via EDI.
  • Data Entry: Accurate entry of sales orders and generation of invoices using Sage 100.
  • Shipping Systems: Utilize StarShip TMS, FedEx Ship Manager, and UPS WorldShip to prepare shipments.
  • Warehouse Collaboration: Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure order fulfillment aligns with shipping schedules.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, or order management.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Sage 100 (or similar ERP), EDI systems, and StarShip TMS.
  • Logistics Skills: Proven ability to coordinate with carriers, negotiate/review quotes, and handle shipping disputes.
  • Detail Oriented: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and a "eagle eye" for discrepancies.
  • Communication: Professional verbal and written communication skills for daily interaction with vendors and internal teams.
  • Education: Associate’s degree or higher preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (DOE)
