Community Engagement World Cup Intern
This internship will consist of 20 - 50 hours per week, for 6 weeks
May 25, 2026 – July 22, 2026; weekends required
$18 per hour
Massachusetts Youth Soccer is seeking qualified interns to join our Community Engagement Events team. The Community Engagement World Cup Festival Intern will play a crucial role assisting the successful implementation and execution of community events related to the upcoming World Cup. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated and hard-working individual to gain experience within the sports industry.
Assigned Responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
· Assist in the preparation and delivery of Massachusetts Youth Soccer’s special events World Cup Festivals and programming.
· Assist in the planning, set-up, execution, and breakdown of community events.
· Support on-site event operations, including guest flow, materials, logistics and Mass Youth Soccer assets and activations.
· Engage and interact with guests in a professional and welcoming manner to create a meaningful experience for all guests.
· Must be available to work weekends, evenings and nights as program and event schedules require.
Qualifications
· Undergraduate student majoring in Sports Management, Event Management, Business Management
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Must have reliable transportation
· Must be able to pass a background screening (CORI)
· Must have own laptop and smart phone
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Ability to adapt to changing situation and circumstances
· Familiarity in professional customer service and problem-solving practices
· Enthusiasm for sports in general and a basic understanding of soccer is a plus
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods on your feet while working events
· Ability to work outside for periods of time in all types of weather conditions
· Must be able to lift, carry and move items (maximum of 50 lbs.)
· Must be able to drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials – occasionally.
