Geotechnical Engineer
Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with up to 3 years of experience for our Georgetown, Delaware office. This a great entry-level opportunity for an early career engineer to get hands-on experience
Responsibilities:
- Provide task support to the Construction Observation & Testing group
- Coordinate and manage drilling projects and oversee junior staff with management of these projects, as well as visual classification and log preparation
- Coordinate and review laboratory testing
- Complete accurate geotechnical exploration reports
- Perform engineering calculations, including settlement, bearing capacity, lateral earth pressures, pavement section designs, slope stability, etc.
- Generate scopes and fees for new projects and prepare complete proposals and budgets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field of study
- EIT preferred
- Own Transportation, valid driver's license and good driving record
- Enjoy working outdoors
- NICET, ACI and/or other certifications are a plus. Not required.
